Crisis Intervention Training
ABOUT
We’re very proud of this government educational video on the Crisis Intervention Training program (CIT) co-run by Alameda County Public Health Department and the Oakland Police Department. This government educational video has been used to educate the general public, police officers, and other audiences about the CIT program, which trains officers in de-escalation techniques for use on mental health crisis calls with individuals experiencing a crisis. In part because of our videos on the program have been widely shared and have educated other police departments of its value, awareness of CIT has increased, the program has spread, and lives have been saved.
